Link: Tony Hoagland – Here’s a quote from an interesting interview by Tony Hoagland, the Poet who wrote Fetch. Fetch was our post on Wednesday, and if you missed it, it’s a treasure.
Hoagland said, “Someone gave me a contemporary poetry anthology when I was 15, and reading it may have saved my life in high school. I felt like I was finally meeting the adults I needed, the ones who would tell me the real facts of life and human nature.” I felt the same way when I got my first book of poetry for my 11th birthday from my favorite Aunt. I’ll bet many of you did too, and feel free to tell us about it in the comments section.
